MNRE Update Feb 2026: PM Surya Ghar Subsidy Status, Disbursement Speed & FY27 Outlook

Latest MNRE numbers (Feb 2026) on PM Surya Ghar Yojana — 19+ lakh systems commissioned nationally, 4-6 week subsidy disbursement, FY27 budget outlook.

PM Solar Policy Desk 12 Feb 2026

Where the scheme stands (Feb 2026)

Per the latest MNRE quarterly report:

  • 19+ lakh rooftop solar systems commissioned under PM Surya Ghar since launch
  • ₹14,400 crore in subsidy disbursed
  • Average disbursement time: 4-6 weeks post-commissioning (down from 8-12 weeks in early 2025)
  • Top-performing states: Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh
  • FY27 budget proposal: ₹22,000 crore (continues at FY26 pace)

What this means for Jaipur customers

  • Subsidy disbursement is now reliable and fast — most Jaipur customers see the money in 30-45 days post-commissioning
  • JVVNL net-meter approvals have improved from 45+ days to 20-30 days
  • The 3 kW sweet-spot (₹1,96,000 system, ₹78,000 subsidy, ₹1,18,000 net) is the most claimed slab in Rajasthan

What is NOT changing

  • The ₹78,000 cap at 3 kW remains the same — there is no increase planned for FY27
  • The subsidy is still routed through the national portal (pmsuryaghar.gov.in)
  • Rajasthan RREC's ₹17,000 state top-up continues

Why act now

Demand is rising (Rajasthan applications grew 312% YoY in Q4 2025). Vendor capacity is tight ahead of the summer 2026 install rush — booking before April locks in current Tier-1 panel prices.
