Our Methodology, Sources & Editorial Policy

PM Solar (Solar Awareness Foundation) is an independent NGO. How we verify information, what sources we rely on, and how we maintain content quality — fully documented.

Editorial Principles

Our content follows these six principles. They were set by the founders in 2024 and are reviewed at every annual report.

No vendor bias

We only reference MNRE-empanelled vendors. We never promote any specific company.

Verified numbers only

Every subsidy figure, interest rate, and process timeline is sourced from official government portals or RBI publications.

Transparent disclaimers

Where estimates are used (e.g., average monthly savings), we clearly state that they are not guarantees of actual outcomes.

Quarterly fact-checks

We audit our blog content quarterly via /admin/knowledge-hub/quality — articles with stale or unverified data are revised or de-indexed.

Human oversight

AI-assisted drafting is used, but every fact is verified by a human editor before publication.

Free & independent

PM Solar is an independent NGO. We charge no fee to consumers. We are not affiliated with any private solar company.

About the Organisation

PM Solar is the public-education programme of Solar Awareness Foundation, a registered organisation. We operate from Jaipur, Rajasthan and provide free, neutral guidance to homeowners across India on the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and rooftop solar subsidies.

We are NOT a solar installer. Installation is performed by MNRE-empanelled vendors as per the official empanelment list. Our only revenue sources are NGO grants and voluntary donations.

Our operations are transparent. Address: D-468, Office No. 706, North Avenue Road No. 9A, Vishwakarma Industrial Area, Jaipur, Rajasthan 302013. Contact: contact@pmsolar.org.in.
